A synthesiser or synthesizer is an electronic instrument capable of producing sounds by generating electrical signals of different frequencies, which are played through a speaker or headphones. Some of the electronic voices in Futurama, mainly those of robots and incoherent/inaudible speech or sounds, are performed by a synthesiser. Since the beginning of the second run of Futurama, the music for the show has also been created electronically instead of orchestrally.
